Request a new IP address from your ISP server.
Here’s how to do it in windows:
1. Click Start
2. Click run
3. In the run box type cmd.exe and click OK
4. When the command prompt opens type the following. ENTER after each new line.
ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
exit

this will NOT get you a new IP address from your ISP, only from your local dhcp server. In other words, this will only get you a new IP address from your local (home) router!
@Cameron, yeah you are correct. This will be helpful when something went wrong with modem / router. You could refresh your IP!!

Uhm, of course you could always connect your computer directly to the internet for a few minutes (bypass the router) and then follow the instructions…
@Len: That’s not possible. Unless someone has Dialup, which nowadays only 1 out of 1,000 still have, you cannot connect a cable wire directly to a PC without a modem or router.

i worked woth dns… its a good information.
I have a question about DNS??????????
DNS concept is to look for an ip address for a requested page. Once the ip address is got for the first time it will be stored .It will not search again for the same page if it is requested again but retrieve it from the storage.
i want to know where it will be stored and want form of storage is it??? I’ve googled and found it will be stored in the local cache. What does local cache mean?? Is it stored in the computer or browser???
Thanks in advance….
