I was trying to send a link on article which I wrote about Digg. But I didn’t remember his email id properly. So a tough time for me. There came a cool feature of del.icio.us. You would have used del.icio.us to bookmark the links you want for your future reference. But if you want your friend to view the link, probably you would be emailing or GTalking the link. Now with del.icio.us, you can send any links without emailing or pinging. It’s quick and easy to send a link through del.icio.us.
del.icio.us provide a special namespace called ‘for’ , which can be used as a messaging operator while bookmaking. When you save a bookmark, add the tag ‘for:<username>’, then the bookmark will be sent to the given user name.
The tag for:maheshexp will mark this link in the particular user’s del.icio.us bookmark directory and when the person visits his bookmark directory, he could view those bookmark. This is a cheap and excellent way to send the bookmarks.
As soon as you login into your del.icio.us, you will see the ‘link for you’ section got hilighted.
And when you access http://del.icio.us/for/maheshexp, one could view all the public bookmarks sent to the user.
