With the love and support of Web 2.0, there is an tremendous increase in the digital data in the Digital Universe. With the launch of Flickr, YouTube, Last.fm there is a huge increase in the digital data. And now EMC2 is under a try to measure the individual’s digital footprint.
Do you want to know how much digital content you are generating? EMC2 had released a new tool which will estimate the amount of digital content you are generating. Based upon few easy questions, the tool will give you an approximate size of the content. According to RWW the total size of the current digital universe is like the 281 billion GB size ( that’s really big 281 x 10^9 GB ) and the predicted size of the digital universe by 2011, nearly 1.8 zettabytes (1,800 exabytes).
Out of the 281,000,000,000 GB digital universe, each person’s contribution is about 45 GB, and out of that 45 GB, only about half of the digital footprint would be related to these “active” individual actions – taking pictures, making VoIP calls, uploading videos, downloading content, etc Source: RWW

So, what is your contribution to this huge mass of data. Get the tool to calculate. Please post your digital data generation capacity and lets see how it varies! Here is mine, I generate approximately 1 GB of digital content per day.
